Bambu - "Quit" (Produced by iLLMind)
Internet gangbangin' ass motherfuckers take heed. 'Quit' from former Native Guns member Bambu, is doing for internet street knowledge exploitation what Jay-Z's 'D.O.A.' is doing for the Auto-Tune. It's enough already, promoting gang violence, murders and neighbourhoods you're hitting up on Google street view. 'Quit' comes hot off the album, Exact Change, produced by New Jersey's iLLMind. Listen to the lyrics, Word! - Rip [Ed.]
From 33Jones: Bam's criticism has a little more weight behind it as he was in a gang during his high school years and actually understands the consequences of the lifestyle, having served time in prison as a result of his gang affiliation. It's certainly not a new argument, but it's hard to argue with Bambu's point that the glorification of gang life by rappers who have only seen Hollywood's version of it is little more than an exploitation of the real lives that have been lost to violence.

Tru Life Turns Himself In On 1st Degree Murder
NY rapper Tru Life turned himself in last night for a 1st degree murder charge.
We hear New York police are alleging that a dispute between Tru Life’s brother and several other individuals may have killed a teen and left another man seriously injured.
According to investigators, early in the week hours of June 16 five men ambushed two men at a Manhattan apartment complex to retaliate against the earlier shooting of a man named Michael Slater.
Slater - a suspected drug dealer - was shot in the abdomen outside nightclub Pacha, and is listed in critical condition.
The gang-inspired apartment ambush resulted in the two individuals being stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face.
One man, 30 year old Jason Black, survived the assault and is listed in critical condition. The other, an 18-year old teen whose name has not been released, died on the operating table.
While details are still being revealed police believe the shooting and fatal stabbing are the result of an ongoing feud between Jason Black and Tru Life’s brother.
The brother, whose name has also not been disclosed, was first introduced to Hip-Hop fans in 2007 courtesy of a beef then rivals Tru Life and Cam’Ron.
According to various reports, the brother joined Tru Life in confronting Cam’Ron outside of Club Stereo. After an escalation of words and some reports alleging the brother even threatened to shoot up the venue, Tru Life assaulted the Dip Set founder with a single punch to the face.
Tru Life dropped his latest music video, “I Don’t Need Love.” From the Lower East Side Manhattan, the emcee has rising starlet, Keri Hilson romanticising the hook on the new single.
Some of bars from the effort were rehashed from BET’s now-defunct classic Rap City circa 2006-07 during the feudal climax with with Dipset Capo, Jim Jones. Tru will undoubtedly be viewing this video from prison-issue TV. Word.

According to an interview in the upcoming edition of Playboy magazine, Mariah Carey claims that Eminem is “obsessed” with her and is not sure why. After a rumored fling between the two was leaked to the press, Mariah denied having a tryst with the bad-boy rapper, which didn’t impress Eminem.
In the recent interview reported by AHN, the singer has begun to question what could be wrong with the newly divorced hip-hop star.

Daz Dillinger Song Disses Jermaine Dupri, Suge Knight
The song, which is entitled "Fuck You Roll Call - JD, Suge Knight & Alan Grumblatt," appears on the street album, which was released in celebration of Tupac's birthday. Dillinger's history with the three label heads - Dupri the founder of So So Def, Knight a co-founder of Death Row Records, and Grumblatt president of E1 (formerly Koch) Records - is well-documented, as he had music releases on all three labels.
The track is literally a roll call, with Dillinger saying, "I want to say a big 'fuck you' to Jermaine Dupri, Suge Knight, any other motherfuckers I've had business quarrels with...Alan Grumblatt from Koch, fat fucker."
Dillinger & Makaveli II is a group project by Daz and DJ Nik Bean, consisting of new raps over a collection of beats Tupac previously used.

NBA Finals: LA Lakers Win in Five
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Kobe Bryant has the NBA title he needed most -- the one without Shaq.
2009 NBA Finals
Bryant's seven-year chase of a coveted championship is over. He's got his fourth, and Los Angeles coach Phil Jackson his record 10th, a ring for each finger. One year after failing in the finals, Bryant and the Lakers have redemption, and all the rewards that go with it.
They earned their 15th title on Sunday night as Bryant scored 30 points and Pau Gasol added 14 and 15 rebounds in a 99-86 win in Game 5 over the Orlando Magic, who ran out of comebacks.
It took longer than Bryant expected, but he has stepped out of former teammate Shaquille O'Neal's enormous shadow -- at last. His fourth championship secured a strong case can be made for Bryant being the league's best player since Michael Jordan hung up his sneakers.
